Boat Hire

ONLY CLUB MEMBERS CAN HIRE CLUB BOATS

BOIYC Boat Hire Protocol

This protocol must be followed before any boats are hired, thank you

Safety Or Sailing Boat Day Hire

 

  1. Contact Thomas 0284118171 to see if the boat you want is available and in good working order. (if it’s last minute and you can't get hold of Thomas, contact Rawiri 0223886708

  2. Payment will be organised.

  3. The boat must be washed and put away correctly.

  4. Once returning the boat, let Thomas or Rawiri know if you had any issues.

 

Hiring a Sailing Boat to go to a Regatta

 

  1. Contact Thomas 0284118171 to see if the boat you want is available and in good working order.

  2. Payment will be organised.

  3. Before the boat leaves the club, you must pay for it by following payment instructions, including a $500 b. Tond

  4. Let Thomas know when the boat is back at the club ready to be used again

  5. Once the boat has been checked over the $500 Bond will be refunded.

 

If you would like to hire a club sailing boat for the same night every week of a term

 

  1. Contact Boats Manager Thomas 0284118171 to see if the boat you want is available

  2. Payment will be organised (this may be included in the coaching costs)

If attending an away regatta, an additional $15 per day for single-handed boats or $25 per day for double-handed boats applies.

​NOTE: You are responsible for any damage caused to the dinghy or vessel while you are using it (up to a maximum of $500, which is the Club insurance excess).

How dinghies and vessels are allocated if demand exceeds supply

  1. Participants in the Coaching Programme in their first season

  2. Other participants in the Coaching Programme

  3. Club Members in the Sailing Programme

  4. Club Members

  • Full day hire charge by negotiation.

  • If you are taking the safety vessel away to a regatta; fuel, and an additional, $25.00 per day applies plus a bond of $500 which covers the Club insurance excess (this is payable before the vessel is taken - the bond can be held electronically and returned when vessel is returned unharmed).
